Some words about an specific way of communication nowadays through our mobile phones: WHATSAPP

Whatsapp is an instant message application created by Whatsapp Inc. (company founded by Jan Koum and Brian Acton). Whatsapp is a play with words that means "What's up?" Since it appeared, it has supposed a revolutionary way of communication. It has left out-of-date other services as SMS because it is not free and the number of characters is limited.

Because of that, the number of users is increasing everyday. According to Barbara (2014):
With 21 millions of users, Spain has become the 6th country with the higher percentage of Whatsapp users over the whole population. According to Global Web Index, Spain is the European country with more users of Whatsapp.

However, this way of communication is different depending on the generation that uses it. For example, it is more teenagers often add and talk with people that they don't really know or just a little bit. As Alejandra (2014) has said "the 22% of teenagers have admitted that have added to their contact list people that they have never known". It is evident that they don't have the same concept of communication that an adult could have.

What is communication?
